How we make our products

Build Your Own Dress

My training in print design means we can create our own fabrics and patterns. I digitally design the prints and then work with a UK supplier to print them onto sustainable materials. I then handmake your dresses at home in my studio in York. We sometimes also work with UK dressmakers depending on where we are in the year. We’re expanding this range to accessories and other styles.

Hand-printed -
Tshirts, dresses and accessories (including cushions)

I hand-draw all of my prints before they’re digitally edited to create a final product. The prints are then cut, prepared, hand placed, and then finally heat pressed onto sustainable fabric. All made to order. This 4 stage process involves a lot of time, patience, and a good eye for print placement by me and the team.

  • Tshirts - Organic cotton premade tees that I transform

  • Hats and pre-loved - Vintage items that are upcycled

  • Dresses and cushions - Deadstock fabrics is made into base items before they’re transformed with magical designs

The majority of our products are made-to-order which means we don’t overproduce but can also easily make custom pieces. We are never creating items that then don’t get sold and become waste. However we occasionally hold Sample Sales of mis-printed items and product samples so keep your eyes peeled.

Pre-loved

MARY Pre-Loved allows us to create up-cycled second-hand garments at a lower cost. I hand source every item, design bespoke prints for each item (which follows a similar process to our made-to-order items) and then handprint them in our little studio. I love collecting vintage and transforming them into something that will bring a new lease of life.

Kitchen, dining and journals

I design every print then work with a UK based independent factory to produce limited edition runs of homeware like mugs and journals. Keeping things limited edition means that we avoid overproduction and waste.
